In 2006, I felt anxious and overwhelmed by the BRCA 1 positive results, however; I was more educated about the higher risks of developing breast cancer.

On March 22, 2011, I was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. My biggest fear had become my reality. During my first dose of chemotherapy, I felt empowered knowing I had a higher chance of survival due to the early detection. The loving support from my family and friends helped me stay encouraged to fight back. I looked at the pink boxing gloves my mother gifted me with the writing, "Mama said knock you out!" That was all the motivation I needed to kick breast cancer's ass!!! The undefeated champ is here!!!
